F5 Access was put into service by F5 Networks Inc on December 2, 2011. Suitable for Android 4.0 and above. This app was previously known as BIG-IP Edge Client for Android. F5 Access uses VPN and optimization technologies. In this way, F5 Access secures and accelerates mobile device access to corporate networks and applications. This secure VPN access is available as part of the F5 BIG-IP® Access Policy Manager™ (APM) enterprise distribution. F5 Access provides full layer 3 network access to all enterprise applications and files. Likewise, F5 provides Android support by securing application traffic with BIG-IP APM.

This app features automatic network roaming to stay connected on the go. F5 Access reconnects automatically when your network is interrupted. Client certificates from the Android Credential Store are used for authentication. However, these certificates are for Android versions 4.0, 4.2.x, 4.3.x, 4.4.x, 5.x, 6.0 and higher. It cannot be supported on Android 4.1 devices. On the other hand, it also protects your device against threats. As a matter of fact, threats to steal your personal information from Wi-Fi connections are protected by VPN. However, nothing definite can be said for viruses.

F5 Access provides SAML authentication to initiate seamless VPN connections. F5 Access has Biometric and Device Authentication for cached credentials reuse. With this feature, F5 Access is distinguished from its counterparts. F5 Access provides seamless user through MDM products from Airwatch, MaaS360 and MobileIron Core. On the other hand, after the users administrator has set up the initial configurations, there is a managed configuration mode to disable user edits. Other than that, VPN mode is always on. On the other hand, F5 Access uses device administrator permission. You should refer to the F5 Access Users Guide for instructions on the application.
